The Field Water Alarm™ by Jacobson Remotics is a small portable unit that will alert irrigation personnel when water has reached a predetermined set point, regardless of the head pressure, soil moisture, grass density or weed content.

It uses a two-way radio (preferably UHF) transmitter or cellular phone to signal a hand held portable unit and/or base station with a recorded voice alert message when the irrigation water has reached a predetermined set point. Two radio transmitters are available with either a 120 MW or a 5 watt unit depending on the physical and distance requirements of the application. The Field Water Alarm will save time and water when flood irrigating, by eliminating excess tail or drainage water. The Field Water Alarm™ warns farmers to avoid the flooded field or the "slow water" dilemma when the water is running slowly and needs to run longer. The probe unit can be mounted in a vertical position to signal when the water has reached a predetermined height or laid horizontally on the ground to signal the moment the water has reached the set point.
